Pasteur boiled liquid in his swan-necked flasks to;?

The question is wrongly asked. Firstly only heating won't work.Pasteur Heated the liquid to about60-70 Celsius then he also COOLED it SUDDENLY. Due to this the cell contents of the bacteria first expanded then due to cooling they had to contract.this set up a strain on the cell contents as a result of which the bacteria died.
