WTF is a "No-Nonsense New Yorker"?

at a friggen job interview the dumb guy goes "We're looking for a no-nonsense new yorker" and then he asked if i was born and raised in NY and i was like um no....and then he went on and on about the job, thanked me and told me he'd call me if i was chosen. if i dont get picked isn't this discrimination?
