I want to play Piano but I'm not interested in clical music but rather in Pop one, is it weird ?

No, but i think you should still to be able play and know basic music things. such as scales, knowing the notes on the piano, reading music.. etc. i know a lot of people who can "play" piano, but don't know anything about it when it comes down to it. So don't just go on youtube or something and learn how to play it off of there.. actually LEARN it. :]
